Hawaii state bird "The Nene"

Hawaii's state bird is called the nene, a duck. At one point in life this bird was almost extinct, but because of a new strict law, about 500 nene's are in existence today or more. You can find the nene in three places in Hawaii, Haleakala National Park on Maui, the slopes on Mauna Kea, Mauna kea State Park bird sanctuary.
